Recently people

have a heated argument about whether English learning is becoming less

important because the scores of English in the College Examination in Beijingwill be reduced

to 100 points with listening making up 30% in 2016.

I think the

assessment system of English learning needs improvement. For one thing,

students have to spend a lot of time doing exercises to pass the College Entrance

Examination. For another, they need the ability to communicate with foreigners.

So students should be provided with more chances to practise spoken English so

that they can use English to communicate with foreigners.

However, I don’t

think English will become less important because of the reform. Instead, I

think it will remain an important tool to learn about the outside world.

往届生分2类：第一类：未参加过新学考和选考科目考试的人员;第二类：已参加过新学考和选考科目考试的人员。?[3]?

第一类往届生参加新高考：(1)语文、数学、外语和3门选考科目都要考，3门选考科目和外语每门最多有2次机会。以前考过的高考科目的成绩无效。

(2)以前考过的学考科目的成绩仍然有效，在三位一体、高职自主招生中仍然可以发挥作用，在统一考试招生高校对学考等级提出要求时也有效。

第二类往届生参加新高考：语文、数学2门高考科目必须参加当年的统一高考，外语和3门选考科目仍有有效成绩的可以不考，也可以重新考(包括换新科目和原来的科目再考)。

总的原则是：在保持选考科目不超3门，且每科有效成绩不超2次的前提下，先确认作废其中1科或1次有效成绩后方可再另选1科或再次参加考试。
